Wow, I have such an issue when it comes to sticking to things... I haven't really updated this in a whole year. Even though not many people look at this I have a hard time writing for a public "journal". I focus wayyyy too much on trying to sound "intelligent" (lol) instead of just writing what I feel. Taking this less seriously will be beneficial to me I think.

After a super long hiatus I decided I need a new hobby- or technically return to an old one but it's been so long it feels new. I haven't done much recently besides school and there's been an extreme lack of creativity and fun in my life. When I opened up VSCode for the first time in months I realized I completely forgot how to write in HTML so it was a learning experience all over again. Thankfully it came back very quickly after looking up a lot of tutorials and guides or else I would've never ever returned.

The other reason I came back is because I was so inspired to make a shrine for my favorite musician. I spent so many hours updating a spreadsheet in Google Sheets and doing research to make sure it was accurate with links and references. The only issue is that the Sheets UI is ugly as fuck. And hard to navigate on mobile. I realized that you can actually /embed/ a spreadsheet into a website- this seems like common knowledge but it was really game changing for me!! I could now give it a cute background and some lace overlays and boom it looks awesome and I would be happier sharing it with everyone. So I came back to do that and I'm extremely proud of it. Since it got me into the swing of things I have a ton of other updates I want to make. Theres a Notepad document running 24/7 on my desktop that I just dump ideas into and slowly I'll make my way down the list depending on my motivation. As of now my plans are:
- Make a dollhouse (similar to my fishtank) where my collectables are displayed and can be dragged and dropped around the page
- Have a music page where I pick my favorite album from each of my favorite artists which is clickable to go into more depth- also have a section here that shows my record collection
- Update my movies page to add more + links
- Make a "Please Do Interact" instead of a DNI
- Think of more shrines I could make to further my coding experience
- When everything else is done maybe make a books page but I don't read enough to warrant this
I'm trying to figure out if Neocities premium or whatever it's called is worth it because I'd love to be able to run scripts and have custom cursors and I'm feeling very ambitious but for $5 a month that seems like a lot...
